Welcome to the historic and romantic Silver Queen, our bed and breakfast in Georgetown, Colorado. This 1892 Victorian Second Empire home is nestled in the Colorado Rockies, just 45 miles west of Denver. Located in the charming 19th Century mining town of Georgetown, widely known as the "Silver Queen of the Rockies", the area has been designated as a National Historic Landmark District. Here you can experience the romance of a bygone era and enjoy the many activities the Colorado mountains have to offer.

The Silver Queen Bed and Breakfast was built in 1892 by Thomas Cornish, a wealthy mine manager and civic leader. It was one of the last of the elegant Victorian homes to be built in Georgetown, and it featured many modern conveniences that were unusual for the times - hot and cold water, gas, electricity, and heating appliances.

Today, the Silver Queen B&B has been extensively updated to provide lodging accommodations with comforts and amenities suitable for the most discerning guests. Your innkeeper, Joyce Jamele, a professional interior designer, has created a beautiful and comfortable home furnished with stunning antiques.

The elegant Parlor features a grand carved fireplace that beckons guests to relax and converse. Overlooking the gardens and spectacular mountain views is the Library/Music Room, where a cozy leather sofa invites you to curl up with a good book or the 1890's piano entices you to sit down and play. A Sitting Room features a flat-screen HD television. You can enjoy your full gourmet breakfast in the formal Dining Room beside a glowing gas coal fireplace or at the antique farm table in the sunny Breakfast Room.

Each of the three guest rooms is furnished in its own unique style - traditional Victorian, charming Country French, soothing Swedish. They are true master suites with a queen-size bed, gas fireplace, writing desk, ceiling fan, ample closet and storage space, and a seating area. Each suite has its own master bath with a jetted tub, 2 vanity sinks with storage, walk-in shower, a separate water closet, and makeup mirror.

 
 

   SUMMER IN THE MOUNTAINS!!!


     Georgetown has been just beautiful these past few weeks.  Trees and lawns are green and the flowers are in bloom.  We've been having warm, sunny days, cool evenings and some occasional showers.  And Mother Nature has provided a few spectacular thunder and lightening storms!  You can enjoy a lovely afternoon or evening out in the garden here at the Silver Queen.

      The Georgetown Loop Railroad is running every day - this year our steam engine is back.  In addition many daily rides on Steam and Diesel Trains, there are Wine Tasting & Hors d'oeuvres Trains and Dinner Trains on weekend evenings.  

       Things have been very busy here in town, now that the tourist season is in full swing.  Now is the time to start planning your summer vacation here in Georgetown.  Look in the activities section of our website for things to do in town and nearby. 

       On July 31 and August 1,  the town will be bustling with "Open The Doors of Georgetown", featuring 9 private Historic homes, 3 museums, The Masonic Lodge, and the Bowman-White House. This is a must-see event, and your chance to see some very beautiful and unique Victorian Homes.

       August 31 is the celebration of Ron Neely Day - LOCO-Motion on the Georgetown Loop Railroad with margaritas and mariachis.

       Fall is just around the corner, with many events on the schedule here.  On September 18, the 2nd Annual Dutch Oven Cook Off will be held on our downtown street, with teams competing in several categories.  Come over and enter your team, or sample each team's tasty dishes and vote for your favorites.  Along with this event, Historic Georgetown, inc., is presenting a Night of Comedy at the Central City Opera House on September 10, featuring Louie Anderson and Roseanne Barr.

      In addition to all the events here in Georgetown, you can plan your own special getaway with family and friends here at the Silver Queen B&B.  Several groups have had wonderful weekends here - they just took over the whole house, visiting, reminiscing, and just having an overall fun time together.
